»  The Saudi Arabian Football Federation decides to reduce the professional’s number

Prince Nawaf Bin Faysal Bin Fahed, the General President of Youth Welfare, President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, confirmed during a press conference today at noon, after the meeting of the Federation’s Board of Directors, that Saudi Football is currently having some hard circumstances and we need lots of development and active participation from those who are concerned and good minds. And it also needs to increase the investment methods and the incomes of the Federation and clubs.

He called for the immediate establishment of the Federation’s General Assembly according to Statute, and stressed on the necessity to develop the work of the tournament’s committee by changing its name to the “Association of professional cubs” and appointing Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Nowayser as its President, and remitting all matters related to the clubs to the Association of professional clubs in order to discuss it with the clubs and then submitting them to the Federation.    

His Highness disclosed that the first division will be converted to a professional first division starting from next season.

He called for the establishment of a “Charitable fund” called “the loyalty fund” specialized in the non-investment incomes of the Federation such as fines or charities. This fund should be responsible of helping all the Federation’s responsibles and associates in case of force majeure that occurs to any of them, such as death, sickness or incapability. His Highness dedicated the fund with the amount of 1 million riyals from his personal account.   

He pointed out to the increase that will start to occur to the clubs’ incomes through the Federation’s incomes and those of the Association. He announced that KSA will be hosting the 2019 Asian Cup finals and the Asian Cup for less than 22 years categories in 2013.

He disclosed that the number of foreign players will be reduced to three players and this decision will be transferred to the Association of Professional Club to study it according to the players’ contracts provided that its application will be after more than two seasons.

He announced that the Saudi Federation’s slogan will be changed, as well as those of all Saudi Arabian Championships by the end of the season which shall give them a bigger chance to be marketed and invested.
